Load cells measure the force acting on the object they are applied on through an electrical signal varying according to the force itself.
They can be employed in a wide range of fields, among them the naval, automotive, food, oil, automation, and geo-techincal industry.

They are most commonly used in electronic weighing systems and to measure mechanical force.

In the geo-technical industry, the device is used to measure induced loads on centrings and to monitor the status of the stretching tierods.
